Had great fun volunteering to help Children’s Classic Concerts by animating children’s drawings for their Haunted Concert Hall film. We were given a limited time frame to complete one animation for the concert, in either 2D or 3D. I opted to try out animating in 3D using Blender and came up with the opening pop up book design. I had never animated drawings before, so this was a fun and fresh challenge and allowed me to show my 3D knowledge.

I completed the first animation within a couple of days, so offered to take on two more drawings for the concert. I had less time to create these animations time and was working on them while I was also busy with Univeristy work. I kept well organised however and managed to get all three animations complete in advance to the deadline.

I kept communication throughtout the project, making sure to recieve feedback on animations to suit what the client was looking for. I also offered to take on one final animation after the Haunted Concert Hall film premiered for some children who’s drawings didn’t make it into the final animation.

The video sequence is in the order of completetion. I had less time to complete each animation as they progress, but I always pushed myself to create 3D animations to challenge and develop my skill and so that the children could see their drawings really come to life in a 3D world.
